FAQ

FAQ

If someone passes away in Mainland China, how can the body be sent to Hong Kong?

Mainland civil affairs and Hong Kong Immigration rules apply — typically death certificate, export clearance, HK entry permission and receiving funeral home documents. Reunion International can assist; call us for an initial checklist.

If someone passes away in Hong Kong, how can the body be returned to Mainland China?

A permit to remove the body from Hong Kong is required, plus receiving documents from the destination funeral home or cemetery. We assist with export and Mainland entry procedures.

How long does cross-border repatriation take?

HK–Mainland routes are typically 7–14 working days depending on documents and port schedules; international routes depend on destination and flights. We provide estimates at enquiry.

How are fees calculated?

Based on destination, transport (road/air), embalming and casket options. Fees are itemised in writing before confirmation; final terms per written agreement.

What documents are required?

Commonly: death certificate, body/ashes transport permit, destination acceptance proof and ID documents. Requirements vary; we provide a case-specific checklist.

Can ashes be repatriated?

Yes. Ashes repatriation often involves simpler paperwork; we arrange airline- and customs-compliant packaging and transport.

Do you provide embalming?

Yes. Our licensed team follows relevant standards with attention to hygiene for long-distance transport.

Are you licensed?

Reunion International is an Eternal Funeral affiliate sharing group resources (Eternal Funeral undertaker licence: 2412800065).

Can you expedite?

For emergencies call +86 19518736997 ; we will prioritise flight and port coordination where possible.

Can you arrange repatriation from other provinces (e.g. Sichuan, Yunnan)?

Yes. Our Mainland partner network can coordinate collection to major ports, then via Hong Kong or international flights.

If someone passes away overseas, can the body be returned to Mainland China?

Yes, subject to export rules in the country of death and China entry requirements. We assist with consular legalisation and logistics.
